NBA TV’s Summer League policy — the very first chance to see a lot of the NBA’s best rookies in actions — will comprise 50 live game telecasts in 13 days beginning Monday, July 1. Live match coverage will tip off at 7 pm, 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and 3 rebounds, 5 rebounds, 7 rebounds and 11 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup between New Orleans Pelicans ahead Zion Williamson along with New York Knicks guard-forward RJ Barrett — two of the top 3 selections in NBA Draft 2019 presented by State Farm — highlights the 11-day, 83-game program for MGM Resorts NBA Summer League 2019 at Las Vegas. Williamson along with the Pelicans confront Barrett along with the Knicks on Friday, July 5 at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. Each MGM Resorts NBA Summer League game will air live on television for the second consecutive year, with ESPN networks and NBA TV combining to televise a record amount of matches. Williamson, the No. 1 pick in NBA Draft 2019 introduced by State Farm, yields on Saturday, July 6 to face Rui Hachimura along with the Washington Wizards at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN. Hachimura became the first Japanese-born participant chosen in the first round by an NBA team when the Wizards chose him ninth in NBA Draft 2019. Williamson will also take on the Chicago Bulls and fellow top-10 select Coby White on Monday, July 8, at 9:30 p.m. on NBA TV. MGM Resorts NBA Summer League 2019, that features all 30 NBA teams along with the Chinese and Croatian National Teams, will steer clear of 10 games on July 5 and continue through Monday, July 15 in the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the campus at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The first day of activity will comprise five matches on NBA TV plus a tripleheader on ESPN. This league gives fans the chance to see lots of the league’s top young players, including this season’s top 10 selections Williamson, RJ Barrett, De’Andre Hunter, Jarrett Culver, White, Cam Reddish, Rui Hachimura and Jaxson Hayes. NBA TV, co-managed by the NBA and Turner Sports, will broadcast a record 40 games, starting with the MGM Resorts NBA Summer League opener when the Croatian National Team, making its event introduction, squares off against the Detroit Pistons and No. 15 select Sekou Doumbouya on July 5 at 3 pm ET. NBA TV’s coverage of Day 1 will also feature a 5 p.m. ET match between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Cleveland Cavaliers, who picked Darius Garland together with the fifth choice in the 2019 NBA Draft. After that game, a 7 p.m. matchup between the Minnesota Timberwolves along with No. 6 overall pick Jarrett Culver vs. the Dallas Mavericks The Trail Blazers begins defense of their MGM Resorts NBA Summer League name against the Pistons on July 6 at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU. After that afternoon, the Atlanta Hawks, who picked Cam Reddish the 10th pick in NBA Draft 2019 introduced by State Farm, will play the Milwaukee Bucks at 5 p.m. ET on NBA TV. NBA TV’s on-site commentators in Las Vegas will consist of analysts Brendan Haywood, Caron Butler, Steve Smith, Isiah Thomas, Sam Mitchell and eight-time NBA All-Star Vince Carter, who will serve as a guest analyst for the network for the fourth straight year. Matt Winer, Rick Kamla, Pete Pranica, Kristen Ledlow and Jared Greenberg will share play-by-play duties. Allie LaForce, Dennis Scott, Stephanie Ready, Ro Parrish, Ledlow and Greenberg will function as reporters. NBA TV’s signature studio show, NBA GameTime, will feature live episodes after each day’s last game of the night, July 5-15, focusing on the most recent player moves and absolutely free agent buzz, plus game highlights and information from Summer League. Casey Stern, Winer, Kamla and Chris Miles will rotate hosting duties, alongside analysts Wes Wilcox, Tony Delk, Rex Chapman and Antonio Daniels.
