England had been given a warm welcome at Miyazaki as they begin their preparations.
A community trip partly took up england’s first full day at their training camp at Miyazaki to a neighborhood high school, in which a brass band played with’We Will Rock You’ by Queen as the gamers sat on stage.
Hundreds of children watched as George Ford exchanged passes with the captain of the school group, before gifts were exchanged and coach Steve Borthwick gave a speech in Japanese.
“I said it is great to be here in Japan and we will do our absolute best in the World Cup. I thanked them for their support,” Borthwick said.
“The players are appreciating it. It’s a training camp here in Miyazaki. I know that in my experience coaching with Japan at the last World Cup.
“You couldn’t have asked for better amenities and the gamers have enjoyed how we’ve started.
“The very first time period will be spent recovering in the journey since there’s the jet-lag element.
“Then we will have another push in terms of our fitness center. We are going to focus on our conditioning to the next couple of games. We are going to move into match homework at the right time.”
A delay leaving the airport because of the fallout from Typhoon Faxai, which had battered the capital the preceding night struck england’s coming into Tokyo on Monday.
