Sunderland set to name Phil Parkinson as new manager

Phil Parkinson is defined to be named Sunderland supervisor for Saturdays trip to Wycombe.
The former Bolton boss is expected to be announced as Jack Ross replacement on Thursday.
Ross was sacked with Sunderland ninth in the League One table.
After departing Bolton in August parkinson returns, he resigned on the edge of administration with the team.
On Saturday, Parkinson will move up against the Gareth Ainsworth, who Sky Sports News understands was considered for the job of the Sunderland manager of Wycombe.
The Black Navy also approached Coventry to Wigan and Mark Robins for Paul Cook but have been refused permission to talk to either.
