NBA TV’s Summer League policy — the very first opportunity to see a lot of the NBA’s best rookies in actions — will comprise 50 live game telecasts at 13 days starting Monday, July 1. The network’s program — such as live game telecasts from three Summer League places — will comprise the expected first look at many of those 2019 NBA Draft course. Live game coverage on NBA TV will tip-off around July 1 with three games, including the Cleveland Cavaliers — who drafted Darius Garland together with the No. 5 selection — confronting the San Antonio Spurs and newly drafted Luka Samanic at 7 p.m. Live event coverage will include 10 match telecasts in the Sacramento Kings’ California Classic Summer League and also the 2019 Utah Jazz Summer League — five from every location — held from July 1-4. Golden 1 Center in Sacramento will host the California Classic Summer League, although the Utah Jazz Summer League games will be held in the team’s Vivint Smart Home Arena at Salt Lake City. NBA TV will comprise back-to-back tripleheader days of live game action from Sacramento and Utah on Monday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 2, followed with a four-game report on Wednesday, July 3. The network’s coverage will include the Miami Heat with No. 13 select Tyler Herro in Sacramento, and the Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers in Salt Lake City. Live match coverage will tip off at 7 pm, 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and 3 rebounds, 5 rebounds, 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup between New Orleans Pelicans ahead Zion Williamson along with New York Knicks guard-forward RJ Barrett — 2 of the top 3 selections in NBA Draft 2019 presented by State Farm — highlights the 11-day, 83-game schedule for MGM Resorts NBA Summer League 2019 at Las Vegas. Williamson and the Pelicans confront Barrett along with the Knicks on Friday, July 5 at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. Each MGM Resorts NBA Summer League game will air live on tv for the 2nd consecutive season, with ESPN networks and NBA TV merging to televise a record number of matches. Williamson, the No. 1 pick in NBA Draft 2019 introduced by State Farm, returns on Saturday, July 6 to face Rui Hachimura and the Washington Wizards in 10 p.m. ET on ESPN. Hachimura became the initial Japanese-born participant chosen in the first round by an NBA team when the Wizards picked him ninth in NBA Draft 2019. Williamson will also take on the Chicago Bulls and fellow top-10 pick Coby White on Monday, July 8, at 9:30 p.m. on NBA TV. MGM Resorts NBA Summer League 2019, that features all 30 NBA teams and the Chinese and Croatian National Teams, will steer clear of 10 games on July 5 and continue through Monday, July 15 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The first day of activity will include five games on NBA TV plus a tripleheader on ESPN. This league gives fans the chance to view many of the league’s top young players, including this season’s top 10 selections Williamson, RJ Barrett, De’Andre Hunter, Jarrett Culver, White, Cam Reddish, Rui Hachimura and Jaxson Hayes. The event opens with 32 teams playing four preliminary matches each. The top eight teams are then seeded in a tournament, which culminates with a Championship Game on July 15 in 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2. Teams which do not qualify for the championship will each play a consolation game. Each team will play at least five games as many as seven at MGM Resorts NBA Summer League. Last year’s event, acquired by the Portland Trail Blazers, set records for total attendance, combined viewership across ESPN and NBA TV, and visitors into the NBA’s social and electronic platforms, besides matching the single-day attendance document. For the third consecutive year, ESPN will present every match from vegas through the ESPN Program, along with 43 games on its own linear television networks (ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU). NBA TV, co-managed from the NBA and Turner Sports, will air a record 40 games, starting with the MGM Resorts NBA Summer League opener when the Croatian National Team, making its occasion introduction, squares off against the Detroit Pistons and No. 15 select Sekou Doumbouya on July 5 at 3 p.m. ET. NBA TV’s coverage of Day 1 will also comprise a 5 p.m. ET game between the Minnesota Timberwolves along with the Cleveland Cavaliers, who picked Darius Garland together with the fifth choice in the 2019 NBA Draft. Following that match, a 7 p.m. matchup between the Minnesota Timberwolves and No. 6 overall pick Jarrett Culver vs. the Dallas Mavericks The Trail Blazers begins defense of the MGM Resorts NBA Summer League title against the Pistons on July 6 at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU. Later that day, the Atlanta Hawks, that selected Cam Reddish the 10th pick in NBA Draft 2019 introduced by State Farm, will play with the Milwaukee Bucks in 5 pm ET on NBA TV. NBA TV’s onsite commentators at Las Vegas will include analysts Brendan Haywood, Caron Butler, Steve Smith, Isiah Thomas, Sam Mitchell and eight-time NBA All-Star Vince Carter, who will function as a guest analyst for the network for the fourth consecutive year. Matt Winer, Rick Kamla, Pete Pranica, Kristen Ledlow and Jared Greenberg will share play-by-play duties. Allie LaForce, Dennis Scott, Stephanie Ready, Ro Parrish, Ledlow and Greenberg will serve as reporters. NBA TV’s signature studio series, NBA GameTime, will feature live episodes following each day’s last game of the night, July 5-15, focusing on the latest player moves and absolutely free agent buzz, also game highlights and information from Summer League. Casey Stern, Winer, Kamla and Chris Miles will rotate hosting duties, alongside analysts Wes Wilcox, Tony Delk, Rex Chapman and Antonio Daniels.
