Interim champion Dustin Poirier was defeated by lightweight world winner Khabib Nurmagomedov in Abu Dhabi within their UFC 242 title unification bout.
30, nurmagomedov, filed the Poirier of America in the next round on Saturday to make it 28 wins from 28 fights.
The Russian outwrestled Poirier within the first two rounds before eventually securing a rear naked choke to cement his standing since the UFC’s number one fighter that is 155lb.
