The PGA Centenary course hosted the 2014 Ryder Cup, there are a number of holes which could be key to the results of matches and when the men of Europe beat their US counterparts 16 1/2 -11 1/2.
The gap – Wester Greenwells – danger lurks for those pursuing the green in two with water and bunkers waiting for errant shots and the par five.
The fifth gap – Crookit Cratur – rated the toughest hole on the course, with another green, especially by marshland short and appropriate.
The 14th hole – Nebit Knowe – a real risk-reward par four of just 232 metres. The green is shallow and well-guarded by bunkers with the safer option being to bail out to the left.
The 16th hole – Lochan Loup – do you lay up short of the water, or go for the green in two on this par five? A heavily contoured green means there’s no certainty you will receive down in two.
