After reeling off five consecutive wins, the Red Sox are struggling to stay in the search but the question is, how can they maintain their winning ways as they start a mini set?

After dropping two of three to the Padres the Phillies will try to rally tonight. To be able to get back on the right track, Philadelphias genius Aaron Nola (11-3, 3.56 ERA, 1.26 WHIP) will take the mound following a dazzling performance in his final outing in which he allowed just 1 run on three hits in an 11-1 demolition of the Chicago Cubs. Even the has faced the Red Sox once in his profession, which arrived a bit over a year back when he yielded a run on four hits in eight innings of work, resulting in a loss to the World Series champs.
After Chris Sale was shut down for the time due to inflammation of the left 28, the Red Sox starting rotation is at a small quandary. Therefore, Boston will send reliever/starter Brian Johnson (1-1, 6.45 ERA, 2.01 WHIP) to the bulge tonight with the expectation that he can get through a couple innings without too much damage. In his final start, Johnson pitched innings where he allowed one earned run over Cleveland last Wednesday. Prior to the relief corps requires over, manager Alex Cora was cautious with Johnson this season limiting his starts. The longest Johnson has gone this season was five innings against the Yankees when he surrendered one run (none earned) on four hits in an 8-7 loss back in June.
The MLB chances are currently showing the Red Sox as slight favorites in that one, regardless of Philadelphias positive pitching matchup. A lot of this has to do with Bostons prolific offense which has plated an average of 5.8 runs per game, trailing only the Yankees in this class. Twenty-two-year-old Rafael Devers is punishing the ball this season using a .332 batting average, 27 home runs, and 101 RBI making him an MVP candidate that is undeniable. Devers lit up the Orioles pitchers on Sunday if he went a set of doubles and four RBI to lead the Sox into a 13-7 victory.
Their document is evidence that pitching is overriding in baseball as good as the Boston lineup is. The Phillies offense is mediocre but Bostons pitching woes have plagued them throughout the year. Brian Johnson is more suited to mid-relief than hes against a stud for example Aaron Nola, I dont see this heading tonight to the way of Boston and also a starting pitcher. Their bullpen has been suspect if Johnson does provide these three acceptable innings, since they failed to Craig Kimbrel from this past year, along with they have been haunted by the absence of a bona fide nearer. I will take the price on the Phillies and keep cashing those tickets!
Score: Phillies 7 — Red Sox 4
