DOES DRAFTKINGS SPORTSBOOK AT RESORTS DESERVE TO WEAR A CROWN IN ATLANTIC CITY?

The Resorts was the primary seaside casino.
When then-New Jersey Gov. Brendan Byrne cut the grand opening ribbon at Resorts at May 1978, therefore began a set of casino/resort openings, closings, re-openings, refurbishments up and down the Boardwalk.
Forty-one decades later, Resorts is still going strong in the center of Atlantic City, and they welcomed the DraftKings Sportsbook, their amenity November 2018.
DraftKings was concentrated on daily fantasy sport. But along with challenger along with its cohort, FanDuel, it’s a relative newcomer to this legal sports betting game. Despite the newness, DraftKings has more than held its own on the mobile front versus recognized names like Caesars, William Hill, along with MGM.
Plus they make a strong showing in the front in concert with Resorts.
I’ve been reviewing every single NJ retail sportsbook ahead of the NFL season, also I am looking intently at DraftKings Sportsbook at Resorts in Atlantic City, now.
Address: 1133 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, NJ 08401
Resorts is at the heart of Atlantic City’s”Boardwalk Strip.”
The DraftKings location is not difficult to find inside the boardwalk entry. Resorts offers all of the casino action in addition to amenities such as a spa, Margaritaville bar, and dining and club choices.
Like most Atlantic City casinos, even if you aren’t a hotel guest or a loyalty cardholder, you’re going to be hit with a $20 fee for basic self-parking. Not ideal, but it’s the cost of”doing business” in AC.
It ‘s 5,000 square feet and includes a capacity of nearly 400 while the DraftKings space feels little. The interior d??cor and color scheme are adorned in”DK colors” of black and green. The branding is delicate but on stage with neon”kings crowns” located throughout the area.
Other than the opulent d??cor would be the amounts of kiosks adjacent to the sport bar and situated at the entrance.
All told, you can find 18 self-serve terminals in the area, equaling just FanDuel in the Meadowlands (wait, are these daily-fantasy-turned-sportsbook operators on something?) For kiosks in NJ’s amount sportsbooks.
The teller area, which can be tucked into a corner is offset by the self-serve kiosks. It’s a space with potential for up to five tellers.
Though the noted dimensions (5,000 square feet) and capacity (396) is big, the novel feels much smaller and cozier. With low ceilings and smaller format movie displays, it will have a similar”Fan Cave” feel like, say, the Golden Nugget novel.
Againnot a terrible thing DK has performed an outstanding job outfitting the space that they need to use.
The Resorts sportsbook has a rectangular shape at live teller place, another in the back of the novel that retains four VIP areas: 1 resulting in a pub and its own sportsbook region with 2 offshoots. The main viewing area contains four primary big screens that aren’t”giant” by any means but match the space allocated.
Beneath the four large video displays are 10 smaller screens for sport action. A large-format ceiling-hung ticker display is scrolling the scores and updates and an odds and data wall situated opposite the bar.
DraftKings'”fire marshal” ability of 396 belies the truth that there is somewhat limited seating in the primary sportsbook area. There are 40 theater chairs anchoring the viewing area with 15 standard seats. There’s a small design defect in this area for a support partition will obscure some of the displays for the ones that are currently sitting behind it.
Also, the bar area has chairs. That’s a total of 70 chairs, not counting.
There are five live gambling windows adjacent to the primary bar.
While my visit wasn’t at a”peak” time, an individual could envision some audience issues at busier times, along with people wedged into the corner of this space.
RATING: 3.5 stars
DraftKings rips it. What’s even better is the majority of machines are available and available 24 hours per day. Nicely finished, DK.
RATING: 5 stars
The live teller minimum is consistent with Hill NJ sportsbook places, 5. This higher”live-teller” minimum is offset from the user-friendly kiosks, which have a low $1 minimum.
RATING: 4 stars
One is not overwhelmed with displays in the Resorts publication. The TV screens are serviceable, without a”wow” impact.
There are four screens in four more in the VIP area and the primary area. All the displays in the viewing area and to the pub are a format that is smaller.
Not the best situation for seeing NFL Sunday in action.
RATING: 3 stars

The”non-VIP” seating capacity is roughly 70. Yes, the 40 chairs in the viewing area are outstanding; I just wish there were more.
The 15-seat back rail does include power outlets (a wonderful touch). The VIP places are listed to maintain up to 12 people (12 are the absolute best ) and features plush leather sofas and low tables. It seems”VIP-ish,” as the four areas are consecutively adjoined (not personal ) with a single large screen which may be set to whatever game you want to see.
RATING: 3.5 stars
The day-to-day chairs accessibility is”first-come, first-serve,” together with all the VIP areas available to be booked beforehand.
RATING: 4 stars
As with other AC sportsbook locations, the casino has been constructed before the opening of this sportsbook. While a few other novels have limited to no food options (i.e., render the novel to come across the food court), DraftKings Sportsbook introduces some strong choices if you opt to not ever leave your chair or even the sportsbook itself.
Along with the huge bar in the publication, you can find beverages available via table service and”Happy Hour” discounted beverage pricing on Sunday-Thursday from 2-7 p.m.
The food menu is short, but solid featuring some sports bar food including chicken wings, hot dogs and hamburgers but also some other offerings including quesadillas, chicken parm, along with sushi rolls.
RATING: 4.5 stars
Within my trip that is off-peak, there were four DraftKings personnel on site and all were customer focused to answer questions, clarify stakes, or teach how to use this kiosks that are self-betting.
DK has nailed the lines newspaper screen. There’s a large wall opposite the bar that displays a myriad of screens that are future and lines. Screens is a seemingly endless row of newspaper sheets. Nicely finished, DK!
RATING: 5 stars
Resorts Casino is in the heart of the Atlantic City Boardwalk. This prime location is represented from the self-parking prices of $20. Yecch!
RATING: 2 stars
As highlighted earlier, Resorts includes a multitude of alternatives under its roof too for whatever”non-sports betting” frame in your mind which you might happen to be in, there is something for everyone.
The location in the center of the Boardwalk makes it simple for you to journey down or up the boardwalk to find more entertainment choices as stated.
RATING: 4.5 stars
As part of each sportsbook trip, I am placing a football-related bet for the year old.
Using its 18 kiosks it was only fair I made this bet at one of their terminals. With futures and extra props, the DraftKings kiosks are loaded Besides the decrease bet minimums of 1 which you don’t watch on screen at the publication.
After looking at some NFL potential bets around”NFL team to win against the fewest games” and”NFL defensive rookie of the year,” I took a shot at”Last Friday NFL team to be undefeated at the 2019-20 season”
Very Superior luck and go get’em, New Orleans Saints:
The Resorts sportsbook provides some amenities which are not now available at Atlantic City sportsbooks. DraftKings scores marks in the regions of in-seat food-and-drink ordering reserved seats, and an extraordinary number of accessible self-serve kiosks.
The rips on DraftKings in Resorts stem from the space within the Resorts area. The TV screens are on the side in relation along with the seating capacity is on the side.
One supposes that DraftKings will do things differently, When given a free rein to design a space from scratch, however they need to perform the best with the space available.
So the positives do outweigh the negatives. Together with a positive customer-service approach and dedication, it will put the DraftKings Sportsbook in Resorts on the”must-consider” list for a visit during the upcoming school and NFL seasons.
